There is great power in being in the liminal state, a threshold where one thing has died or ended, and something else has yet to begin.
It's that "in between" place, that place where you think you know what's coming down the road, but because you don't suspend your judgment, you lose the ability to see what is much greater coming at you. And you miss it altogether. It's called suspending judgment.
Rather than me explain this, watch this video clip:
(Here's a link to the video if you need it: https://youtu.be/hFewdHqb_z4)
So you see that the judges in this Switzerland's Got Talent judged too soon. All four of them said "no" to the contestant's act. And yet, you saw the result of what a tremendous piece of artwork she was creating.
What does this mean for you and your excellence?
I don't need to tell you how the pandemic has caused a lot of endings in this past year. And here we sit at the threshold between what will be known as "remember 2020" and a new year (still with uncertain outcomes). We are hoping like crazy 2021 is not a repeat of 2020.
As a person of excellence (someone who has committed yourself to the act of becoming the fullest expression of your unique, God-given design) possess this ability to suspend judgment and allow something brand new to emerge. Something that despite all your thinking and your strategizing, you still really see it happening. And if you try to force something to happen, you forfeit what could be something much greater than you ever dreamed.
As a fixer, I need it more than most. Perhaps you can relate. When we see a problem, we want to fix it. And we don't suspend our judgment long enough. We have to work at this. Will you commit with me to being the open to the excellence that is waiting to emerge, rather than try and force it?
