I'm Scott Couchenour. My last name is pronounced like drinking a "coke an hour". The family to the right are my crazy kids and some in-laws. It goes without saying, we love having a good time together.
I was raised in a small midwestern town with an underpinning of Christian values. My life has had its share of ups and downs. The most notable event occurred in June of 2015 when I became a 50-year-old without a career.
My entire life has culminated to the point where you find me today. I have made a commitment to be the guide I wish I'd had when I faced the most life-defining decisions I've ever had to face.

In June 2015, I had to make a painful decision: our family business, a legacy since the 1960s, couldn't survive any longer. Despite years of effort to adapt after the 2008 crash, we were out of time and options. My 30-year career as a COO and CEO came to a sudden end.
After a decisive call with a board member, I found my wife on the porch. "We have to close the business," I told her. We sat together in quiet disbelief, grappling with the reality that our years of investment and passion weren't enough to save it. It was a painful moment, marking both an end and a new beginning.
The morning after closing the business, I woke up at 50 with no career and a six-month ordeal of Chapter 7 bankruptcy looming. Emotionally drained, I spent the next four years grappling with self-doubt, depression, and a crisis of identity. But in 2020, amid the pandemic, something clicked. I realized that my business journey, my hardships, and my coaching skills could all be combined for a greater purpose. That epiphany turned out to be my calling.
Through the grace of God, I found my way out of that cave. That journey led me to create this website you are reading right now. Today, I work primarily with Executive Leaders and Business Owners in their 40-50's to tame the chaos, design their next adventure, and then implement that journey through an iterative, cyclical coaching methodology.
